NVIDIA taps both sides of the Force with Star Wars Titan Xp graphics cards

NVIDIA has unveiled a pair of new Titan Xp graphics cards built for Star Wars fans. The Collector's Edition versions of NVIDIA's high-stop graphics cards are split between a Jedi Order version on the light side and a Galactic Empire version for fans of the dark side — both of which pack in plenty of actress aesthetic bells and whistles.

The Galactic Empire version of the menu glows in a haunting red, featuring the logo of the Empire. Meanwhile, the Jedi Society version glows in green, with the corresponding logo. NVIDIA says it added some extra aesthetic flourishes for each faction as well, channeling a battle-worn stop of items used by the Rebel Alliance into the worn look of the diecast aluminum cover on the Jedi Order version. By contrast, NVIDIA says the Galactic Empire version features "simple, clean lines, emulating the high-cease, orderly nature of the resource-rich Empire."

The good looks are backed up by the Titan Xp's powerful specs, including 3,840 CUDA cores running at 1.6GHz with 12GB of GDDR5X memory. That combines for a total of 12 teraflops of power, NVIDIA says.

With the Nov 17 launch of Star Wars Battlefront Ii only around the corner, not to mention a new Star Wars movie hitting theaters in Dec, NVIDIA'south timing here is simply right to take reward of peak Star Wars hype. That said, these new cards are definitely only intended for those with plenty of pocket alter to spare: both will be available for preorder on November viii for a hefty $1,200. Following preorders, both cards are fix for launch in "mid-November," NVIDIA says.
